AiroHR gives you two ways to use location, so you can be strict where you need to be and flexible where staff move around.
Selfie with every punch
Staff take a selfie when they check in and out. The photo is saved with the punch, so HR can see it beside the time and place.
Face matched to the employee
Each employee registers a face photo once. After HR approves it, a punch with a different face is refused.
Geofences for every site
Pin each office, store, factory or client site on the map with a radius. Give a fence to a whole attendance template or to one person.
Inside the fence, approved
A selfie punch made inside one of your geofences is approved on its own, because the place is verified.
Outside the fence, sent for approval
A selfie punch from anywhere else is still recorded, with its location, but waits in the approval queue for a manager to accept or reject.
Strict mode for fixed sites
Put staff on Location Based mode and they can punch only within their assigned site. Outside it the app refuses and shows how far away they are.
Alerts for out-of-area punches
Admins get an e-mail when someone punches outside every geofence, with the distance, the nearest site and a map link.
Shift and overtime rules applied
Punches are judged against the employee's shift or roster, so late marks, night shifts and overtime come out right.
Straight into payroll
Approved punches become payable days in the monthly run. Punches for a month whose payroll is locked are refused.

GPS Attendance App questions, answered
How does a GPS attendance app stop proxy attendance?
Each selfie punch is checked against the employee's registered face once HR has approved it, so a colleague cannot punch on someone's behalf. The location is saved with the punch, and punches outside your geofences need a manager's approval.
What is the difference between Selfie + Location and Location Based mode?
Selfie + Location mode records every punch: inside a geofence it is approved by itself, outside it goes to the approval queue. Location Based mode is strict: the punch is refused outside the employee's assigned site, with the distance shown.
Can staff work from more than one site?
Yes. In Selfie + Location mode a punch inside any of your active geofences is approved, so staff who move between branches are covered. In Location Based mode each person or template has one assigned site.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. The AiroHR employee app is on Android and iPhone, and staff can also punch from the employee portal in a phone browser.
How does GPS attendance reach payroll?
Approved punches build each day's attendance with your shift, late and overtime rules, and those payable days go into the monthly payroll run.
