Salary payouts

Bulk-upload files for your bank

After payroll is finalized, download the salary file in your bank's own bulk-upload layout and upload it on your corporate banking portal. NEFT, RTGS or IMPS is set per payment; on automatic, payments of ₹2 lakh and above go by RTGS.

Any other bank: the generic NEFT/RTGS file or the salary register sheet (.xlsx, with totals) that your branch or relationship manager can process. Bank layouts change from time to time, so upload a small test file the first time.

Safe by design

The file is built from the finalized payroll, and a bank account an employee has just changed is not used until HR approves it. A file never silently leaves anyone out: missing account details stop the download with a list of who needs fixing.

API

Connect your own systems

A REST API with JSON over HTTPS. Use it to feed punches from your own devices, keep another system's employee list in sync, or pull approvals and payroll runs into your reports.

  • Each token belongs to one login and can only do what that login may do, limited to the employees that login may see.
  • Tokens are shown once, stored only as a hash, can expire on a date you choose, and can be revoked at any time.
  • Ask us to switch on API access and we will share the documentation.
  • Webhooks: your system gets a signed message the moment a new joiner is added, leave is approved or payroll is locked. Set them up yourself in Settings → Integrations.

FAQ

Integration questions, answered

Does AiroHR file PF, ESI and TDS returns for us?

No. AiroHR prepares the files the government portals accept, such as the EPFO ECR text file and ESIC contribution data, from your finalized payroll. You upload them on the EPFO, ESIC and income-tax portals and pay the challans there, so nothing is filed without your review.

Which banks can we pay salaries through?

AiroHR builds the bulk-upload file for 10 banks: SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, IndusInd Bank, Yes Bank and IDFC FIRST. For any other bank, use the generic NEFT/RTGS file or the salary register sheet, which your bank can map to its portal.

Can AiroHR use our existing biometric machines?

Yes. Export the punch log from your device and import it into AiroHR, or send punches from your system through the AiroHR API. Many companies also add the Airo Lens face-attendance kiosk, which runs on an Android tablet and needs no biometric hardware.

Can AiroHR post payroll to Tally?

Yes. For each locked payroll month, AiroHR makes one journal voucher: salary and employer PF/ESI on the debit side; PF, ESI, PT, TDS, recoveries and salary payable on the credit side. Download it as a Tally XML file and import it in TallyPrime or Tally.ERP 9, or as CSV for other accounting software. You choose the ledger names, and a ledger-masters file creates them in Tally the first time.

Can we put our job openings online?

Yes. Switch on your careers page in Recruitment and every open job is listed on your own page at airohr.com/careers, with an apply form. Candidates attach a PDF or Word resume, and AiroHR reads it and fills in their contact details, experience, skills and education. Each job page carries the details Google job search reads, and job feeds in the Indeed and LinkedIn formats are ready if you sponsor jobs on Indeed or buy LinkedIn job slots.

Is there an API?

How do employees get payslips and alerts?

In the AiroHR app and web portal, and by WhatsApp, SMS, email and push notification. Payslips go out on WhatsApp and email when payroll is locked.

"Built in" items are part of every plan unless the pricing page says otherwise. "On request" items are set up with our team for your account. Bank and portal names belong to their owners and are used only to describe file formats. Last reviewed: October 2026.
